Based on what we have read, discussed, and worked towards perfecting in the past three weeks, you will write your own personal narrative. For this assignment, you can write about any experience in your life that has shaped your understanding of your identity.
How did this event, person, circumstance, etc change or shape you or your thinking about your identity and the ways in which you define yourself?
I want you to think about the activities that you have participated in throughout this class and how they have resurfaced memories that changed or reaffirmed who you are. Use these as a guide or scaffold to help you begin your writing process.
Feel free to mimic the form of any examples of personal narratives that we have looked at (ie: vignettes, 5 paragraph, etc).
After your final draft has been handed in, we will work in the computer lab to generate an iMovie or Moviemaker version of your personal narrative. We are doing this so that you can see your work in a different form. We will reflect during class journaling time on which genre of your experience you like better and why.
